He was at the origins of the Russian stock market (1993) and was one of the founders of collective investment market and asset management industry (1996), as well as private banking sector in Russia (2000). For more than 13 years, he was the head of Troika Dialog Asset Management – the asset management company #1 in Russia, which operated in the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, and the United States and registered the first fund in Russia.
According to the Investfunds.ru as of 31.05.2011, Troika Dialog Asset Management was the largest management company of open-ended mutual funds in Russia and had a total net asset value of almost 20.9 billion roubles with a market share of more than 21.5 %.
Pavel Malyi has 25 years of experience in the financial market. He led UBS investment banking team for Russia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine (IB team #1 for many years). Former member of the Board of Directors and deputy chairman of the management board of SIBUR Holding. He was responsible for fund raising, including the $1.75 billion bonds placement, as well as the conclusion of loan agreements worth 2 billion euros with a consortium of European banks. In 2010-2011, he was responsible for the acquisition of SIBUR by its current controlling shareholders and for the reorganization of the company's assets.
